2016 HAS BEEN A BUSY YEAR AT NARM! We’ve been working hard to benefit our members, raise awareness of rooflighting best practice and generally present the case for daylighting in the built environment.

Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to in 2016:

ON-LINE RIBA CPD SEMINAR

This seminar, entitled ‘An Introduction to daylighting with Rooflights’ is now available on-line at ribacpd.com

The seminar lasts approximately 30 minutes and is relevant to stages 0, 1 and 2 of the RIBA Plan of Work. Applicable to domestic and non-domestic projects, it’s been developed as part of our commitment to best practice in rooflight specification and installation – and to raise our profile among architects.

NARM JOINS FORCES WITH THE NFRC

In 2016, NARM became a member organisation of NFRC, the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, in a move that cements what is already a well established working relationship between the two organisations.

This new arrangement will facilitate close and regular communication, with the goal of creating a more ‘joined up’ UK roofing industry.

NARM MEMBER DISCOUNTS IN DAYLIGHTING MAGAZINE

DAYLIGHTING is the NEW bi-monthly digital magazine for UK architects, specifiers and construction professionals. Published by Bennett & Partners, the organisation that manages NARM marketing communications, DAYLIGHTING offers editorial opportunities and discounts for NARM members.

NARM’S TECHNICAL TEAM WORKS FOR MEMBERS

NARM’s influential and hard-working technical committee meets on a quarterly basis and provides in-depth support for members on matters relating to rooflight specification and compliance. As a NARM member, you can be assured that your interests are being considered and supported in relation to regulations and standards. SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT ROOFLIGHTING BENEFITS

A big part of what we do at NARM is simply spreading the word about the benefits of rooflighting in terms of energy saving, health & wellbeing; and improved internal environments. Our website now receives over 1000 hits every month – a figure that’s increasing by 10% every year. Our social media presence is increasing, too, with over 500 followers on Twitter and a growing following on LinkedIn. We also provide regular rooflighting related editorial articles and news updates to various trade publications.

Roll on 2017!
